Chronology
Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, attempts to take over Gotham’s criminal underworld. From melted makeup to shooting in freezing temperatures, Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti discuss how they got into character during the production of “The Penguin.” Colin Farrell fought hard to get his version of The Penguin to smoke tobacco in The Batman (2022), but was unsuccessful. However, for his own series, the character is depicted as a casual tobacco user, with a preference for cigars.
An umbrella falls over and the logo changes to the Warner Bros
logo. Appears in Graham Norton i gosti: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). I thought Colin Farrell was great as the Penguin in Batman, but I never understood why they took a skinny, good-looking actor and put him in a huge prosthetic and fat suit… especially when I think he looks like other famous actors who would have been just as good as well.
But I didn’t expect to like it so much
I also didn’t understand why this spin-off was made, and to be honest, I’m tired of Batman reboots. But after episode 1 I will confirm that this series is awesome (so far). I only watched it because it was a necessary bridge between the first and second movie, and my surprise at seeing Farrell in the role in the first one.
The acting is great, the script is superb, and it surprised me with some quick twists
What I liked the most was the fact that there was a lot more color in this one than in Batman. I noticed it almost immediately, as it was a big complaint for me about the movie (I seemed to see it through a Zack Snyder lens). I hope this stays as good as it goes because I really can’t wait until the next episode.
