See the top movies and TV shows by writer/director Taylor Sheridan on IMDb, based on user ratings. A landman, at least one who works in the oil industry, acts as an intermediary between exploration companies and landowners. The landman’s job is usually to negotiate and finalize agreements with landowners who own mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent.

They primarily manage the land and secure leases so they can drill for oil and gas. Like a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, workhouses (man camps), supervise the assembly of excavators, and the actual drilling of the well, especially in remote locations. They are also part repairers, troubleshooters, and helpers.
Only three episodes
We’ve been welcoming Billy Bob Thornton to Texas since Friday Nights in 2006. The vibe is Yellowstone, and it’s welcome, a series with reality vs. superheroes and fantasy.
A stuck old valve, a 24-inch pipe wrench (mounted upside down, with a hammer near the top?
Interesting people and stories…We oilfield guys are shaking our heads over the terrain inaccuracies and the explosion/blowout. The technical glitches in the first three episodes are embarrassing, and your technical advisor messed everything up in the Blowout scene. 100% wrong.
You need torque, don’t try the hammer first (ie
no spark). No experienced oilfield crew would have tried to stop a blowout (He never saw Landman there, and he puts the wrench upside down and hits his own finger.) Hey-Ho, Hollywood, I’ll stick with the story!
