Emmet Walsh (Judge Farful)
Chronology
Two criminal twin brothers, one trying to reform, go on a dangerous road trip to commit robberies. Faced with legal trouble, a shooting, and family drama, they must resolve their differences before their mission leads to self-destruction. Last film appearance of actor M.
His character had a cartoonish, exaggerated, slightly childish demeanor that just wasn’t believable
(22 March 1935 – 19 March 2024). The biggest downside to the movie was simple: many of the characters in this movie are so over the top that you can’t take them seriously. For example, Brendan Fraser, despite being a Hollywood icon with some really great movies, was infuriating in this movie.
This was a huge step down from his last film Palm Springs which was quite entertaining
I blame this mistake on the man who sets the tone of the film, director Max Barbakow. The relationship between Brolin and Dinklage, our titular “brothers”, felt forced and at times boring throughout the film. Their arguments felt like they were being memorized, which is the exact opposite of how you want to feel in a movie.
In short, the weak script was only made worse by the sluggish on-screen chemistry
I was never interested in the development of their family because the script never evoked those emotions in the audience. The movie might be worth watching after you’ve scoured the many streaming lists available, but it shouldn’t be at the top of your to-do list. 4/10.
